This Privacy Policy explains how SlideChap (“we”, “us”) collects, uses, and shares information when you use our mobile apps, website, and related services.
1. Information we collect
- Account information — email address, name (if provided), and authentication data when you sign in (including Apple or Google sign-in where enabled).
- Project and content data — slideshow drafts, captions, hashtags, Brain settings, folders, schedules, and media you upload or generate in the app.
- Purchase data — transaction identifiers from Apple, Google, or RevenueCat to deliver credits you buy. We do not receive your full payment card number.
- Device and usage data — app version, language preference, and diagnostic logs needed to operate and secure the Service.
2. AI-generated images and photo packs with people
Important: Background photo packs that depict human figures are AI-generated (synthetic) images, unless you uploaded the image yourself. They are not photographs taken from real people’s private lives and are not intended to identify any real individual.
When you use AI features in SlideChap, we or our providers may process:
- Text prompts you enter to generate image packs or slideshow copy.
- Reference images you choose to upload for AI generation.
- Generated image files stored in your project library or cloud storage.
Prompts and related inputs may be sent to third-party AI providers (such as OpenRouter and connected image models) solely to perform the generation you request. We do not use your content to train public models on your behalf unless a specific feature explicitly states otherwise.
If you publish slideshows that include AI-generated people or scenes, you are responsible for platform-specific disclosure requirements and for ensuring your use complies with applicable law.
3. How we use information
- Provide, maintain, and improve SlideChap.
- Generate slideshows, render slides, and publish to connected social accounts.
- Process purchases and credit balances.
- Authenticate users and prevent abuse.
- Respond to support requests.
4. How we share information
We share information with service providers that help us run SlideChap, including:
- Convex — application backend and authentication.
- Cloudflare R2 — media storage.
- OpenRouter / AI model providers — text and image generation.
- PostForMe — social account connection and publishing.
- RevenueCat — in-app purchases and entitlements.
- Apple / Google — sign-in and store billing, as applicable.
We may also disclose information if required by law, to protect rights and safety, or in connection with a merger or acquisition.
5. Data retention and deletion
We retain your data while your account is active and as needed to provide the Service. You may delete projects, media, and your account from Settings. Account deletion permanently removes your account and associated data, subject to limited retention required for legal or billing purposes.
6. Your choices
- Update project and Brain settings in the app.
- Disconnect social accounts in Settings.
- Decline optional permissions (such as photo library access) — some features may not work.
- Delete your account in Settings.
7. Security
We use industry-standard measures to protect data in transit and at rest. No method of transmission or storage is 100% secure.
8. Children
SlideChap is not directed to children under 13 (or the minimum age in your country). We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.
9. International users
Your information may be processed in countries other than your own, including where our service providers operate.
10. Changes
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will revise the “Last updated” date when we do.
